The Government of Canada is investing in British Columbia’s innovative businesses to support their growth and create jobs.

Today dear Harjit S. SajanMinister for International Development and Minister in charge of the Economic Development Agency Pacific Canada (PacifCan) announced a $7 million award to two innovative companies operating in the clean and digital technology and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Minister Sajjan made a statement at the premises of FPS Food Process Solutions (FPS), richmond which supplies individual freezing and refrigeration equipment for the food industry.

The Minister announced the allocation of $ 2 million to the company as part of the Business Growth and Productivity (BPC) program. With this funding, FPS will commercialize its Spiral Immersion System technology. This technology speeds up freezing and reduces energy consumption. These investments are expected to lead to increased sales and revenues, as well as the creation of 40 new jobs.

Minister Sajan also announced $5 million in funding for UEY’s RecycleSmart program. The company develops and installs advanced cloud-based waste sensor and recycling container systems that improve the processes and efficiency of waste production.

With this funding, RecycleSmart will commercialize its Pello waste management system and expand production. This system uses wireless sensors and cloud computing to track trash data. As a result of this project, the company plans to create 50 new jobs.

Promoting innovation is a priority for Pacifican. These investments will create jobs and growth in clean and digital technologies and advanced manufacturing sectors, and create jobs for Canadians.
